Ok, so the CEO wants to know how many Internet messages a specific user is sending out. Sounds simple enough I guess, but those damn execs always take relatively complex matters and trivialize them.

So, we are running Exchange 5.5 and there are about 200 users. IMC has the enable message tracking on, so does the Information Store and I just put on the MTA tracking today (why?? don't know...looked good I guess). However, the MESSAGE TRACKING CENTER is a joke! Please tell me I am missing something!!!! If I select a user and scan for the previous few days it only shows internal messages. I really don't care or want to see the actual content of the messages but it would be nice to see the Internet Messages also.

I did manage to stumble around in that hideous MESSAGE TRACKING CENTER and find a way to view INCOMING Internet Messages but not very satisfying.....

So, anyone, please help this poor lost soul!!

Thanks in advance! :)

Try using Message Journaling. It keeps a copy of every incoming, outgoing and intra-office message in a separate mailbox. Search on microsoft's site for instructions on how to set it up.

Get XWall and use XStat to run statistics reports.
