Is BICSI Telecommunications Installation Manual 2nd Edition(Mcgraw-Hill,2003) still a solid reference since it was essentially takin from the actual contents of the BICSI TCIM 3rd Edition,in 2001.What are your opinions on this?
I say this as a former Master Instructor for BICSI, the info in the 2nd is goof info on the basics such as cable pulling, but most of it is outdated.
This industry continually changes, therefore 3 or 4 year old information, depending on the subject, may be worthless.
If you are planning on purchasing a used TCIM, I would not buy the 2nd. I still have a new 3rd on my shelf if anyone is interested by the way.
BICSI posts errata sheets on their web site to keep up to date on the current editions, but not for previous editions.
