I am using LDP to connect a Canon S450 inkjet printer to our network. Printing is fine, however, it doesn't send status messages like it did when it was shared with a Win2000 server. I only care about being notified of low ink levels or paper-related errors. I am using the same parallel cable, so I know that's not the problem. I am currently using Gimp-print IJS drivers. (The regular Gimp print driver took about 5 minutes to print).
