I am having problems communicating BGP between a pair of 8600's (v3.5.1) and a pair of 6509's. I can easily get the 6509's to talk ibgp and, after some experimenting, the 8600's are working on ibgp (ospf has to be working on the 8600's or there's no router id). I cannot, however get the 8600's to talk to the 6500's. My bgp neighbor shows active on one side and idle on the other, or idle/idle. Any trouble-shooting tips or has anyone tried this?

Can you provide some details regarding your configuration? I have multiple 8600s talking BGP to cisco boxes and have no problems.
