IS-IT--Management
We are running low on router memory and need to decide whether to buy more memory or ask one of our ISPs(ISPB) to send only partial routes (their routes and directly connected routes).
We have 2 routers , each going to a seperate ISP. ISPA(connected to router1) is sending us only a default route. ISPB(connected to router2) is sending us the full routing table.
We currently, and would like to continue to, have all traffic go in and out of ISPB and use ISPA as a backup only.
We are setting local-preference( set local-preference 200) higher on router2 so all internal traffic will go out that ISPB.
We are also padding the announcments(set as-path prepend 1234 1234 1234) going out of ISPA with a longer path so to convince the rest of the world to go through ISPB.
We are running IBGP between router1 and router2.
What would be the impact on our network of having ISPB send only partial routes?
Thanks
