Better to link to?!?!

Hi,

Can anyone let me know what the following would be better to link and increase my rankings (or not!)

I have 11 main sub files contained within one directory (here are three examples):

http://www.domain.com/holidays/south-america-holiday.asp

http://www.domain.com/holidays/central-america-holiday.asp

http://www.domain.com/holidays/mexico-holiday.asp

Currently I link back to these from other files within the holidays directory directly to the individual files.

I have recently created virtual directories so you can use

http://www.domain.com/south-america

and link through to the corresponding file.

What is the best SEO method? To link directly to files or virtual directories? Or is there not much difference?!?!

From an SEO perspective I honestly don't think it makes much difference.
