We would like to set up a prototype environment for a new application which allows users to get hands on with new application features as they are built, and be able to provide immediate, contextual feedback that will help analysts and developers more quickly converge on the right solution to support the business. The collection and organization of this feedback will be done through a threaded discussion forum with pre-defined topics that are linked to comment buttons representing specific areas on the application prototype screens presented for the users to preview. To comment on a given function or screen area, the user just clicks on the comment button near the screen area they are looking at, or on the general comment button, and the discussion board with the pre-defined topic or a new topic respectively, pops up. We could use the built in SP 2007 discussion board, but I'm wondering if there is anything better out there anyone knows about - CKS is currently not supported for MOSS 3.0 and newsgator and telligent would obviously be overkill - maybe a better discussion board web part?
