Hey does anyone recommend a softphone for the 3300 ? I found an 8602

I know we can use the UCA but I do not have any programming info on it as well . The 8602 seems to be ready to install .
Not sure of features etc though .

Been watching a few of the posts and want to try and set up a softphone for our corp folks ...

Thx

Rich

Lord my spelling LOL sorry but I cannot find the edit ...

The shortest route to hating your job is to set up softphones for corporate users !

I just found that after setting up a softphone and trying to program it in UCA , as Desktop UC changed my primary tel in Desktop UC to the softphone and made it the primary number in Desktop UC ! NOW I cannot remove the softphone from desktop UC or find the set up file and remove the info under the directory : C:/ programfiles(x86) / Mitel / UC Programs !! It rendered my UC desktop app unuseable and now I have to re install it !

That sounds like its an account problem on the uca server side more than the client side ... anyway , We have used Bria as a softphone client on iphones and ipads and on windows PC's. Works pretty well.

if you are using the softphone as a call centre agent though I would think the Contact Centre client would be the best bet as you will then have full acd functionality on 1 client.

It is also moving towards having to be a 'MiCollab' client ( UCA) so they may end up all being the same option shortly.

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Hi Billz66

Thx for the reply !

Have not had time to review everything but I am having my UCA client re installed . Thought it may have been UCA as well . Don't have much faith in the product as there is very little you can change if you run into issues like this ... Plus we have AD for everything as well as Group PC Policies that download everything via our network servers . Drives me nuts to load new software outside of the policies and network folks not too happy with me either !!

As for the softphone apps : I am starting to review both options and I did like the UCA option as we do have PraireFyre as well but I would like to keep everything on either the 3300 or UCA versus spreading them all over ...

Thx for the tip on Micollab as I will speak to my rep and see what He can tell me .

Learning fast , as I go here !

Thx

Rich
