best way to put your video on the net

hey,
i want to upload my video to the net. what's the best way to do it so it won't take too long buffering it, and so the surfer cannot download it!
i mean which format (i don't know, maybe not divx cause many ppl don't have the encoder, don't know how it works exactly) and how should the html file look like?

My video is quite long (20 minutes). i guess i'll do 2 versions: 1. fast connection 2. slow connection.
