Best way to pull pictures into Access reports?

Here is the scoop...I have documents in Word, Excel, Acrobat and so on that need to be brought into Access as a picture,as a report, resized and then fields are placed on top of it to complete the report. I have tried scanning, but not clean enough. I've heard that metafiles are the best for resizing, but I cannot find a way to convert these various document formats to .WMF.
Does anyone know of a program that will do this or a better way to bring them in Access as a picture without losing any quality of the document?
Any help is truly appreciated.
