Log in, go to administration, utilities, and warm reset or restart. DO NOT do cold reset - that will erase your data base. Also you can choose shut down if you have physical access to the BCM. Don't choose that option if you are remote as you have to physically toggle the power to get it to come back up.
The UPS batteries I was told are old and no longer charging. They have to be replaced. In that event how do I power down the BCM and make sure that it comes back up after we change the batteries on the UPS. This BCM is almost 10 years old and I just came on the scene when they IT people did not know what to do with it. Their soloution was "Oh you have to replace it with a CISCO"!!!
