best way to lock a record once it's complete? 1

once I've printed/processed a record I want it to lock so that it can't be deleted without being unlocked. What's the best way to do this?

Which FM version ?

5, 5.5, 6, 7....?

Record loch is possible from 5.5 on...
In 5 and lower you need a workaround or the use of passwords etc...

I have a script that finishes a record, but I don't see a function for locking record in scriptmaker.

Any ideas?

Use the 'edit-record-limiter' together with passwords and groups...see for details the help file...
Drawback with this is
-that 'in case of emergency' there is no way back....
-you have to use the errormessage 'from FM', no way for a personal one
-you have to 'waterproof' (I don't like 'idiotproof') your password and groupsystem....
