Bit of explanation to start: This particular client has used -- with little success -- WinFax in the past to attempt sending reports to clients via fax. He's not willing at this point to consider using anything but the fax capabilities of Windows Server 2003.
What we're wanting to do, programmatically, is this:
- Create a report in Access
- Create a cover page, populated with stored data (fax number, receiver name, etc)
- Send without user being prompted by wizards etc
I do know how to create a report, set a report to use a different printer, and how to extract the pertinent recipient data. I'm just not familiar with the fax software that comes as a part of Windows Server 2003.
If there is no practical means of doing this as described, then of course I'm glad to listen to 3rd party solutions as alternatives. The client has such bad experiences in the past with WinFax that he's not wanting to venture off the Microsoft trail this time around.
Workstations are currently running Windows 2000 and Access 2000. I believe Outlook 2000 is also installed on each, though I don't think it's in wide usage.
Thanks much in advance!
