This is the page I'm trying to work on:

I'm not finding much helpful information on google, if anyone here is knowledgable on this stuff it would help me out a lot.

First, what codec should I be using to give the best compatibility? The video now is Microsoft MPEG-4 v3, and that codec cannot be downloaded in WMP 6 on a Win98 machine. Also on the Win98 machine I was testing, IE kept crashing when bringing up the page & resizing the video (I upgraded it to WMP 9).

And on another machine, RealOne is the default player and IE launches RealOne instead of the video embedded in the webpage. Kind of makes this pop-up page pointless if this is the case.

Back to the codecs, I was using VirtualDub, which is more suited for divx creation, but I know WMP will not automatically download the divx codec, so that's not an option. Windows Movie Maker I could not find out how to adjust the screen size away from 320x240, so I cannot get that software working either. And Windows Movie Maker 2 seems to now only be available with SP2 on WinXP? I'm not ready to make the switch yet.

Any help?

if possible, I would use Flash - everyone has Flash player and once you got it done - you know it will work for everyone...

I ended up just doing a link to an avi file from the main page. It's good enough for now.
