Hey guys,

Imagine that you have salesreps that must occasionally download very large files via a desktop app while on the road. I'm looking for some feedback as to the best way to deal with downloading these large files.

Is it better to have a 'background' downloader and get a little bit at a time? Or have a site where the user can click on a link and download the entire file at once when they are somewhere that has decent internet?

What do you guys think is the best approach in this kind of situation?

Thanks!

Hi,
You could have them use a Download Manager ( Like IDM ) that can , where supported by the download site, split the D/L file into parts and recombine them after completion..It also can resume interrupted doiwnloads and queue up multiple files for later processing.

There are several such download manager programs out there but I have used this one for several years and find it very good..
