For Access 2016 is there any difference between copying a database to another name when you do a file - save database - save as..... or if you just use file manager to copy the database.accdb to database2.accdb? It is taking forever the 1st way and I have already compacted the DB. I do work remotely through vpn but I would like to do it the faster route because it has been slowing my laptop considerable.

Thanks!

I always do a simple copy/paste in Windows File Explorer. I don't think I have ever tried doing a save as within the Access interface.

Thanks, that's good to know. I was afraid it would be missing something in the copy because I have no idea why it takes at least 400% longer to do it within Access!
