I'm wanting to block access to certain url's. We're trying to keep our users from checking personal email at work. What is the best way to go about doing this.

Not sure of a way of doing it with W2K server. We use a product called Websense and it works great. You can check it out at

If you are working with win2k server you need ISA server(which is replacement of proxy server with added features)
You can obtain a free trial download of ISA from microsoft

for 120 days. There you can configure Site and Content rules and formulate Access Policy Rules to restrict the access. Depending on the amount of restriction you need you can add web filters to ISA server.
Web filters are available from 3rd parties to be integrated with ISA

Add entries to the hosts file that point the domains you are trying to block to the ip 127.0.0.1 and replicate it to your users. When they try to go to the blocked domains, they will not get anything. If you look around, you can find host files that others have generated to block access to porn sites, ad sites, etc.

By using group policy, you can also set up restricted sites in IE settings. You can set up IE settings through group policy to do lots of things. Since there are 4 zones, you can prevent downloads from the internet but allow them on your intranet, for example.
