Hi folks,

Sometimes we have a need to upgrade some systems (ie from 7.0x to 7.0.36) as te customer doesn't want to buy an 8.0 license. Other times, need to downgrade band new systems from 8.0 to 7.0, as customer only purchased 7.0 licence, or eventually form 8.1 to 8.0 for same reason.
I would have previously uninstalled current version of manager/Admin suite and then installed version I needed at that time, then later, uninstalled that version and install whatever verions needed next. (by the way, I currently use the recreate SD card method not the upgrade wizard due to time required.)
I did extract both 7.0.36 and 8.0.51 bin files into a new folder, and the chnage the binary directory in my 8.0.51 manager, thinking that it would then allow me to downgrade systems to 7.0.36 by just pointing to the 7.0.36 bin files, but it did not work. SD card ans therfore system satyed at 8.0.51, even if I formatted card 1st in manager.
But, i only changed the binary directory ot the new one, not the working directory.
Later tired changing working directory to same new one, but then Recreate SD card option is greyed out.

Any help on best way to do this would be appreciated.

Related question - I noticed that the new bin file directory only has about 10 files in it, and the original binary and working directory location (manager folder) has dozens of bin files.
Will I be missing anything by changing these directories, as the ydo not have as many files, or are they not required??

I always copy the folder "manager" from the install folder when i install a new version.
But the admin CD software has also a folder program files and it is in there too.
Keep all these software levels on a disk and point the working directories to that folder and you are flexible.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!
