Hi All,
This is Raja, working as EDI Programmer.
I need your advice for one important issue. Could you please spend some time to go through this and let me know your advice.
Our current product behavior:
1) Our product is one which is used by Buyers and suppliers to exchange business documents.
2) Buyer sends documents like PO, Payment remittance to our network and we then send those documents to suppliers by adding some security information. Similarly, Suppliers sends Invoice, Order confirmation and Advanced shipment notice to our network and then we send those documents to Buyer.
3) All our Buyers receive/sends documents to/from our network in XML format only
4) There are some suppliers who send documents in EDI format to network and then we (our network) convert them to XML format and send them to Buyers.
Currently, we have setup our network specific EDI requirements and any supplier who wants to transact through our network has to follow our EDI guidelines and should send EDI documents to us making sure that they are following only our EDI specifications.
This way, currently we have only EDI map file for each transaction (one map file for invoice, one map file for Advanced ship notice and one map for Order confirmation etc).
And this is working fine because all our suppliers are sending documents by following our EDI requirements.
Because of this approach, any new suppliers who wants to transact through our network with their Buyers, they have to change their existing EDI maps to satisfy our EDI requirements. This makes many suppliers drop their plans to join our network though they wanted to join deliberately.
Now, we wanted to implement supplier specific mapping. We are planning to implement solution where they can simply send the EDI generated from their existing maps and they no need to follow our EDI requirements.
We are trying to find a good solution for the same? Could some one please advice me a best solution to this problem? Basically We wanted to implement a solution to support Supplier Custom maps.
