I am preparing for a major rebuild of our Call Pilot 5.0 applications. Prior to now, all of my voice items have been recorded through a phone handset using voice item maintenance. However, this time I am using a voiceover person at one of our remote offices and need to import recordings.

As a test I had her record something at the highest sample rate (PCM, 44 kHz, 16 bit stereo), however, after import it sounded...lets just say it was bad.

I used sound recorder to reformat to different rates and settings (22 kHz, 16 bit mono, 8 kHz, 8 bit mono), but most have a bad quality (echo, hiss, etc.). Any pointers or suggestions are appreciated.

Call Pilot .wav files are in the format;

Bit Rate: 128 kbps
Audio Sample Size: 16 bit
Channels: 1 (mono)
Audio sample rate: 8 kHz
Audio format: PCM

Using another format (f.e. another sampling frequency) could cause the issues you mentioned.
