Hi,
Is anyone aware of any best practices used in the industry to develop and test cognos reports and impromptu catalogs?
Also, what the Q/A testing methods (techniques) to test catalogs and reports.

We utilize field by field validation and Join validation for the catalog. For reports, we get a screen print of the operational data, then match that up against the Cognos report.

Generally we try to get the report to 90% accurate before showing it to the user, then User Acceptance Testing helps us fix any data tweaks that only the user will spot.

Pain is stress leaving the body.
