Hello, With SQL server 2000 I would like our replication/fail over server to have a copy of the msdb and master databases. When created the instance on our replication server we did not use these two databases thus how can I make sure they are the same?

We are using Log Shipping to "copy" the main databases to the server.

Thanks
djj

Changes to jobs, and logins should be copied manually between the two servers. You can't log ship or replicate data in system databases.

Hello Denny,
Thank you for your reply. I had an incorrect word 'main' should have been 'working'.
When you say copy do you mean to manually do the same thing to the fail over server or can I just copy the two system databases? We are backing these two up on a nightly basis.

Thank you again,
djj

When I say copy I mean to manually do the same thing (to the jobs, logins, linked servers, etc) to the backup server as well as the production server.

Thank you for the clarification. I will have to remember that in the future.

Thanks
