HI. I need some help. I need to know what is the best practice to create a connection with Crystal Reports XI and Progress. What kind of ODBC is necesary for this version of (CR XI) and what are the steps to create a good conection.

The Operative System is Solaris.

WEll... since no one else has answered, i'll try. I'm the only CRXI user in the company, but i set up a System DSN. It works fine. We did however run into load issues, and the single CRXI connection was slowing Progress significantly. We eventually moved a few dozen tables into a Datawarehouse. This is a great set up, becuase the Datawarehouse is SQL, so we ahve much more flexibility with Views and what not. The CR performance is better/faster for me and the stress on Progress is relieved.

Hope this helps.

hi guys
i heard a lot abt progress software but have no clue abt this .can i download any trial version of progress software

No.
You need to contact a Progress sales rep in your region, who may be able to arrange a trial version for you.

Cheers, Mike.
