Is it better to install PHP to the system partition (drive c)
or a different partition - back in the day it was recommended
not to install on system partition.

Thanks.

Does Linux have a "drive C"? [bigsmile]

What is your reasoning behind avoiding the system drive?

Your concern should be protecting which system users can execute PHP and which files may be written by PHP (or to the PHP installation location). Whether that involves your system drive or other location depends on how you configure your system.

I think it was the idea, that if there was a breach, better to have the breach on a partition that didn't hold the system files.

PHP can be configured to write anywhere. You might install it on a non-system drive but (intentionally or not) give it access to write to the system drive.
