best method using VB.NET & CR XI

Hello,
I've been using VS.NET with Crystal Reports integrated (version 8.5 I believe) at work.
On my home PC I've just installed VB.NET 2003 Standard, and CR XI.
What is the best method for report building - from within the VB IDE? Or by opening up Crystal Reports and building from there?
Is there any difference between the 2 methods?
