I need to develop a solution for an offsite backup solution. I need to be able to keep a backup of all data from the main domain controller. The solution will need to keep an up-to-date copy of Active Directory as well.

Basically I am just looking for any advice on the options available to me.

My thoughts so far...
I could either set up a remote server and just backup active directory and then restore the active directory onto the remote server daily, as well as the backup data. (This would be a pain but quite reliable)

Or I could set up a dedicated broadband connection that will replicate Active directory with the remote server... but how would I get the actual Data from the HDD transfered onto the remote server? Any ideas?

Or any other options available to me. Basically I am doing this as disaster recovery option.

1. back up system state to tape, take tape home with you.
2. back up system state to remote disk
3.- - - - to internet storage vault

Why not just backup the AD & the data to tape?? & take the tapes offsite?

If you want a live mirror of your server you will need some sort of replication software & a decent pipe between the sites which means $$$$$$.
