Best hosted BB?

Whats the best looking, most customizable hosted bulliten board? I want to install the shareware version of UltimateBB but I have 0 experience in that stuff and I have no idea what to do with the files I DL for the shareware version. Do you need your own .com name and some other computer junk to get your own ad free BB board? Im just trying to get more people on my site and it looks like BB is the only way how.
