best email software for alerting to new incoming emails 3

I am already familiar with Outlook Express having a feature that automatically checks for new emails and that if any new emails are found it will download them and then put an envelope looking icon in your system tray, as well as playing a sound when new emails arrive (if you have speakers). In our office environment, a pop up message would be sweet to alert our customer service rep's to new messages. Does anyone know of any email software packages that do this?

I don't use Outlook Express, I use full Outlook. Full Outlook has the feature of which you speak. I would be surprised if Outlook Express doesn't. If you or anyone you know has Outlook, you can verify this by going to Tools/Options/Preferences/Email Options and check the box for "Display a notification message when new mail arrives."

Before switching to full Outlook, you may want to investigate further to see whether Outlook Express will do this as well. Otherwise, Outlook does have a lot of nice features that Outlook Express doesn't, so you may want to switch for other reasons as well.

Outlook Express doesn't have the feature for a pop-up certainly not in version 5 or 6. You only get the 'play sound' option and the funky looking envelope in the systray.

Outlook is the one you are looking for, most people at my company use the pop-up notification and find it very useful. Outlook tends to come bundled with the MS Office suites.
