Hi expert, I would like to setup a secondary circuit to primary. I would like to use DSL and would like to know which type would I need and speed for ex 10 user will need like a 384k (ADSL, HDSL,SDSL). Office size are 10 - 40 users. All what type card will I need routers are 2911, 2821, 2851

Hello
If your user will be doing lot's of downloading you can go with the ADSL (a lot cheaper and a smart choice for a backup, considering your primary link will be up 99% of the time)As far as the card type goes.I would go for the HWIC-1ADSL which will give you up to 20Mbp for future upgrade.
HDSL will give same T1 speed with high upload if you have server on your network.
SDSL symetric like the HDSL but lower speed, this is now replace with G.SHDSL.which gives 2.3Mbps up/down.
Regards

Thanks for your help. I spoke with sprint who has a wireless datalink solution. Have you ever work with this or know of customers using this product as backup and is it safe

That kind of mobile wireless is slow.

I agree with Minue. Some flavor of DSL is a good choice.

ADSL over POTS is a very easy and inexpensive solution to implement. An HWIC-1ADSL would work, and I think a WIC-1ADSL (much less expensive and available on eBay) would also work.

(But I'm no expert, lol.)

OTOH, it might be easy to go to DSL and connect through the ISP-provided modem via an ethernet connection. No additional cards needed with either a 2821 or 2851.

Hi Expert do you know or have a config I would be able to use if I'm using ISP modem. Also would I need a business class DSL with an IP to source VPN Tunnel ?

Too many variables to provide a good working config...

But I'm still no expert.

FOr a site to site, you will need a static IP. For remote access, you don't.
As far as a config, you set the interface connecting to the modem as
ip add dhcp
and you need IP Plus IOS image (at least) in order to do this. Plus, if you NAT in the modem, you won't be NATting in the router. This is if the modem will provide authentication (PPPoE) and NAT. If you wantr the router to do everything, then you would set the modem into bridge mode and create a vpdn group in the router, as well as NAT.
