Hi ;)

I've just tried HeidiSQL and I don't like the fact that you can't see the data displayed directly in the data grid.
You have to click in every cell to view the content :(

So, anyone knows a good (and possibly free) win32 software that hasn't such a drawback?

Thanks!

If it's a database query program you're looking for, MySQL Query Browser (free from the MySQL site) is good. Also good is the database-handling facilities of OpenOffice.org (via ODBC/JDBC).

i use heidisql all the time (i think it's fabulous) and i don't have this problem

did you by chance define your columns as TEXT or BLOB?

those, by definition, aren't part of the row

Hi Rudy :)

Well, most of the texts of my dbs are either "tinytext" or just "text", so, I end up seing nothing in the datagrid.
Also, I've changed one column to "char" but still, nothing changed in the datagrid. All I have is cells filled with "( MEMO )".

One other thing I dislike is the fact that the preferences panel offers little options.

For example, you can't change the font size only in the preview area.

TonyGroves, I've tried MYSQL Query Browser but I don't get why the data in Japanese is all garbage despite the fact that I've selected Japanese fonts in the options :(

Any idea?

I've no idea about Japanese data, but try Sqlyog.

Thanks a lot Lgarner :)

I've tried them all (even some not listed here), and I can say that SQLYOG beat them all.

Also, it handles Japanese perfectly as long as you change the fonts in the options.

There are many other things that are well thought compared to the others but I can't list them all.

Thanks again :)
