Hey all,
I am setting up a construction oriented project (about a $1.3 million total budget) and want to use MS Project (2013) to manage the project details. I also need to closely manage the accounting side so that my company can pay invoices, employees, subcontractors and the like, all associated with the project's tasks. Can anyone recommend a good accounting package to interface? We are not a large company, and if there were a simple way to integrate with QuickBooks (which we already use), that would be ideal. I have looked around but haven't found any kind of add-on product for Quickbooks or accounting software in general. Thanks

Scott

What do you want to integrate? Microsoft Project will generate costs and actual costs based upon the data you enter - however, it does not handle the invoicing, employee detail data. You can export data out of Project into Excel files - but again - it is not an accounting package.

Yes, I want to be able to do the full suite of accounting functions: submit invoices, pay bills, pay employees, reconcile transactions with the bank, etc. I'm aware of Project's extensive capabilities to track costs. That's good at the high-level to ensure we're on track or manage stakeholders' expectations if we have variances. But there is also extensive invoicing data required for to the client, plus I need to manage the subcontractors, pay their bills to us, etc. So I can only imagine these functions to take place within an accounting package.

I understand. I do not work with accounting packages - only Project. Perhaps posting to a forum for other software?
