BESR 8 - VSS or not for exchange backup

Hi,

I recently bought Backup Exec System Recovery 8 with granular option to protect my servers.

I would like to know if I should use full VSS backup or not to backup my exchange 2003 server and my AD server (windows server 2003).
What are the advantages and disadvantages of doing so ?
