I have Backup Exec 9 build 4454 installed on a W2k server, nad remote agents installed on 2 W2k servers and 3 NT4 Servers.

On 2 of the Nt4 boxes, I get an Dr.Watson error everytime the backup job starts.

The Dr.Watson error is:
An application error has occurred and an application error log is being generated.
beremote.exe
Exception: access violation (0xc0000005), Address: 0x01426844

I have tried uninstalling, rebooting and reinstalling.

What's different from the 1 NT Box that doesn't get this error, as compared to the 2 that do get this error (service pack level, background applications, etc...)?

Check out my post of 25/6 [Event ID 34320...] thread 181-27567

The difference between the 3 NT boxes is that I built the one that works.

I had to upgrade the other 2 boxes from SP3 tp SP6a, IE from 4.0 to 6 and MDAC to 2.7.

I have also tried the newest Backup build 4454.

The two boxes that don't work were built prior to ny arrival.

Have you tried disabling all unneeded background programs and services? You might also reapply SP6.

Ok.I found out what the problem is.

Old 3com 3c905b drivers and the 3com DA server software.
