hullo all -
long story short, we're trying to restore some mailboxes on our exchange server, and running into problems with some of the largish ones. the problem seems to mainly effect mailboxes that are 500MB+ in size, but once and a while also the smaller ones that are only 1-2MB in size.
we've run a -debug of the restore, and basically here's the pattern :
- select the mailbox to restore.
- bent loads the media, and seeks the tape to the beginning of the users mailbox
- according to the debug log, it executes a command called 'MAPISession::ImpersonateUser()', and tries to log on to the exchange server as the user being restored.
- about 20 seconds later, the Job Engine Service fails, and the debugger halts
- about 4 minutes later, BENT reports that 'the hardware has gone offline!'
- and pretty much BENT freezes until i stop and restart all of the services. when BENT eventually comes back up, invariably the server in the 'devices' tab is listed as being in a paused state.
we're using BENT 8.60.3878 and Exchange 5.5, both on Windows 2000 machines.
please help! some of these users are VVVV-VIP's, and they +REALLY+ want their email back.
thanks in advance!
