I am a intermediate photoshop user and am just getting into illustrator. If I am trying to trace a sharp, curved object, what is the best way to do this. For example, I attached a scanned picture I drew with a pencil and paper and want to make all of the edges/sides smoother and the corners sharper. I've been messing with the pen tool and anchor points but can't seem to find a good way to smoothly outline my graphic.

...for something like this i would try the live trace feature, res up the scan to 300 to 600 dpi and live trace in CS2 or CS3...

...other than that this is definitely achievable with the pen tool, if you more comfy in photoshop then trace the path in there and then export the path to illustrator...
