okay, i have bellsouth dsl set up between two computers at my house via a d-link 604 router. right now, my wan settings are set to dynamic ip, however, i dont think this is correct. i believe it should be a pppoe. but my attempts to set it up have been less than succesful. if someone could help me it would be great. thanks.

Normally a PPPoE connection is dynamic, could you post where exactly you are running into trouble... Thanks,

Well its not trouble so much as it is uncertianity. the problem is i think i am supposed to configure a dynamic pppoe connection, but right now its configured for a just a dynamic ip w/o pppoe. it works, but i want to be sure im doing this right.
If it is working, you don't need to worry. If it was set up wrong, it would not work...

BellSouth uses a dynamic IP unless you are paying extra for a static IP. Sprint (or Earthlink), on the other hand, uses the PPoE.
