Hi there,
Ive just reloaded xp onto my pc and am trying to get my network up and running again. I have a workgroup of 3 pcs, 2 xp, 1 98. I can see all the computers in the workgroup under 'my network places' and connect with them to share files. However whilst this works, the network status icon appears with the red cross and says 'wireless connection unavailable'.
I also cannot connected to the internet through the server, when the other pc can fine, although im guessing this is related to the wireless adaptor not functioning properly.

As i said, i had all this working fine, until i wanted a spring clean and reloaded windows!

Thanks in advance,

You might check in the networking forum for specifics - but I had a similar problem with a Linksys wireless card. IT ended up having something to do with XP trying to manage my wireless connection. This came to light when I ununstalled the card, removed the drivers, and reinstalled the card. Before the reboot, I had the Linksys driver/network options. One of the more innoculous questions about Windows managing the network is what ended up loosing my Linksys settings. THis turned out to be a toggle switch that would allow XP or the Linksys drivers to manage the card. Sorry I can't be more specific - it was quite a while ago, and I don't exactly remember what the solution was - but this may get you on the right track.

Did you reinstall the drivers and reboot the router? You could try a firmware upgrade if worse came to worse.
