I just bought, on Ebay, a Belkin Wireless Router Part # F5D6230-3 with a Wireless Notebook card and a Wireless USB Adapter.

I have tried to get either of them to connect to the Router to no avail.

In Network Connection it shows both of the network connection as disconnected. The notebook card Link light just flashes Orange and the USB Adapter light is solid Orange.

All three lights on the Router are solid green.

How can I test that the Router is transmitting a signal?

What is wrong???

Any help is appreciated.

P.S. I am running Win XP Home on a Dell Inspiron and I have tried each the adapters both individually and together in an attempt to find a signal.

Hi Ckaspar,
I've got a Belkin Router & Belkin PC Card - F5D7230-UK4 & F5D7010UK respectively.

I hope the following information is useful...

I'm assuming that your Belkin stuff is similar, check the setup instructions. Mine boasts that you can get have everthing fully installed after three minutes, I think this can only be true if you've done it before!

Have you tried to access the setting via a web browser on 192.168.2.1

If you Belkin equipment is 2nd hand, you might need to reset the setting to their factory default.

Roger...

It is second hand and I did reset the router using the button on the back.

I can connect to the browser using 192.168.2.1 but only if I have an ethernet cable pluggued into the back of the router in one of the swithc ports.

P.S. I also did a restore system defaults for the router using the browser as well.

I appreciate your comment as I was beginning to nobody cared! If you have any more ideas I am all ears.

Have a nice day.

You might also want to check the wireless setup and make sure that is enabled.
