Belkin 4 port wireless router causing lag on 2 comps

I have a new router that is connected to an ME desktop and an XP home ed. laptop. We do not seem to have any probs when we are both surfing the net, but when we both play a game that has us connect to a server we start lagging after 10-15 minutes of play. Once 1 of us quits the game the other person does not lag. Is this router related or a problem with the server we were on?

If it only happens with the game, my guess would be the server or the game's WAN-configuration.
