Is this the only condition that causes this error? I suspect bad RAM or damaged paging file. Probably working with any large file in any application would set it off.
Start but turning off your paging file, reboot, and re-enable the paging file. Go to Control Panel, Performance and Maintenance, System, Advanced tab, Performance Settings button, Advanced tab, Virtual memory Change button, change to 'No Paging file'. OK and reboot. Then using the same steps, change back to 'System Mangaed size' (you might need to reboot again). Then open OE & test with a message that caused this condition in the past.
If that doesn't cure it, check your physical memory using something like memtest86.
If neither of the above explain/solve the problem, start looking for updated device drivers. See
I don't think it's because of broken hardware. More likely, some drivers are not working correctly.
Think:
1. Did you add any new hardware recently ?
2. Did you update any drivers ?
3. Any major updates from Windows Update ? (least probable)
If answer to at least one of the above is "yes", then it's a probable cause of problems. Try removing drivers/hardware. Microsoft also suggests to get rid of all drivers that are not certified by them.
Problems you have were reported on other e-mail clients (ie. Eudora) and usually were easily fixed.
