HI

I wonder if you could help me. I am using Adobe Premiere 2. I want to achieve the following:

1 - When the movie starts, I want to display some text description.

2 - Gradually, the text description fades away.

3 - Now the actual video starts.

4 - While the video is playing, I want to display a line of text (some sort of title of the video).

I would be grateful if soemone could tell me how I can do this with Premiere. (are there any tutorials available)

I am a total beginers with Premiere.

The easiest way to do this is to create titles. One for the opening text and another for the caption.

F9 from the timeline, or File/New/Title opens the title designer. It's a bit like a mini PhotoShop if you know that product. If not, you might find the basic title tutorial at

useful. Although it's for Premiere 6.5, the titler is almost the same as that in Premiere Pro, so the lesson transfers well.

If you put the CTI (current time indicator on the timeline) on a relevant frame, before you open the titler, then that frame will be seen behind the title as you create it to help positioning etc.

Place the title on a higher track than the background footage, and it will be automatically superimposed.

To fade in/out is easier in Premiere Pro than 6.5. Just drag a Cross-Fade transition onto the end(s) to fade, and it will do a fade in/out automatically for you.

You can drag the ends of the title to make it longer or shorter, and similarly the inside edge of the transition, one applied, to extend or decrease the fade time.
