Beginner

I'm using an old hp D class 9000 box and i am trying to get started with connecting to it via Hyperterminal however all i get when i try to connect is
NFS server (pid706@/net) not responding still trying
if anyone has idea why i'm getting this i'd appreciate a bit of help.
or any beginners advice too.

I am beginner in HP UX. If you have some thing new like command guide its boot process of Hp UX document which will help me please refer me. I will appreciate that.
