Beginner in JavaScript.....Counter question.

Hi I’m a beginner in JavaScript so I’m not very familiar with the language. What I want to do is add a counter on my page, is there a way to do this using a JavaScript? I will appreciate all the help I can get

the only way is the use of cookies


recommend using asp if possible [bomb]
I may not get it the 1st or 2nd time,
