Beginner adding HP LaserJet5n to network

I'm new to adding printers, I have configured a new IP address of the LaserJet5n on the printer, also have set the subnet mask and default gateway of the printer to server controlling the printer.
I have tried doing a Add pritner and the printer is not recognized. What else do I have to do to get the pritner working on the network?

Sorry, I did not mention but this printers on a Win 2k server.

Try using HP`s Install Network Printer Wizard (

In most cases this one will install the printer flawlessly. If the IP configured by INPW should be undesireable, it can easy be reconfigured by accessing the networkcard on the IP in a browser window.
