Hello All
I have captured a clip and draged it to the time line,
the preview was choppy so I chaged the project_setting->general->preview, so that the preview will not be transmited through the fire wire but only to the monitor, so now THERE IS NO PREVIEW AT ALL. I can still see a picture on the monitor when I drag the time curser with the mouse, when playing the clip with WMP it is OK and there is no need for rendering, but when I press ENTER or SPACE premiere will not preview my clip.
I have a filling that it is something concerning the setting but I don't know exactly which setting.
thanks in advance
Orid

does the project settings / export settings for your timeline/project match the video codec settings of your clips? ( ie if they were recorded using CANNON DV AVI , does your project settings for Premiere match?)

the settings are the same, I checked that.
unfortunately the phenomena is stil there.

another question poped up in the mean time:
the premier does not recognize the AVI files from my digital cameras (canon s30, s400), what can be done about it.
thanks in advance for all the helpers

did you camera come with software to be installed on yoru computer? ususally cameras will require you to install their codecs on your computer so that you can see the AVI files used by them.

the camera did come with it's own software,
however there is no problem seeing the AVI's on my PC,
the only problem I have is importing those AVI's to premiere.
Is there a way to guide premier to use other codecs?
your response is appreciated.
Ori

P.S. my first problem (same thread) hasn't been solved yet, so if you guys have any ideas, I'll be happy to try them

Okay, last thing, wh8ich I should have asked first; is your camera compatible with Premiere?

how do I find out if my camera should support preier

You could try converting the AVI to a different format. But then again what do I know. Hah!
