HEllo all,
I just purchased the Linksys BEFVP41 70 IPSEC tunnel capability. I am trying to hook up a windos xp pro laptop using securemote vpn client sopftware Build 4199, on the home network.
My objective is to setup the BEFVP41 to establish the VPN tunnel to the office VPN server. Does anyone have any tips on how to read the configuration requirements from the securemote software that needs to be entered into the Router?
It is my wife's laptop and she works from home alot. I know the securemote username and authentication code for the securemote client, I also know the public IP of the office VPN server. Unfortunately, I do not know the technical specs of the office VPN server besides the notice during securemote authentication indicating a RADIUS vpn server has negotiated the authentication.
Local network IP is 192.168.2.xx.
Verizon DSL using PPOE.
BEFVP41 firmware 1.40.4 Nov 21, 2002
I have tried many attempts at getting the VPN router to estblish the connection. No connection is established and the log reports that the Linksys cannot be an initiator of the tunnel.
If I cannot the laptop directly to the dsl modem and use the xp built in ppoe client the securemote tunnel authenticates and works. Behind the NAT Linksys router it does not authenticate, web browsing works.
Any suggestions on what to do/try or were to look for information? Advanced IT user
