I bought the BEFSX41 router and still can't set up a VPN tunnel. I would like to be able to use my PC from work.

What kind of software I need to get everything up and running? I know that I should have a client software installed at work in order to be able to get through the VPN tunnel, but the question is - which one? And where can I get that software?

I can get PC Anywhere, but if I install that on my home PC, and on work PC - it will still not work, because I have to get through my home VPN. Do I need some other software for that? PC Anywhere doesn't support all the security settings that I have in my BEFSX41.
What should I do? I know it's not the rocket science, but I have never done that, and books don't give the exact example.

Sorry for the bunch of questions, but I think I am on the right forum now.

Thank you,
KarEn.

There are multiple ways to make a VPN connection between your workand your home. If I understand you correctly, you want to take control of your work PC from your home PC with PC Anywhere. This should be able to work just fine if you can get a VPN tunnel up and running. In order to do so I would immediately contact your network administrator.

It may be possible for your admin top create a VPN directly from the Linksys router to yoyur corporate firewall. Or you may use a software program running on your PC that makes the VPN connection back to your corporatefirewall. The second option is more likely because of security reasons, but wither will work. You will need your admin's help in order to make it work though. Start there.

Hello Belushi,

Thanks for the reply.
Sorry to say that, but you got me wrong. :)
I need to be able to use my home PC from work.
And I don't have an admin here, as it's a small company and I am the only one who is mantaining the IT environment. I am capable to do that, but never had VPN experience. :(

Please, help.
I don't want to repeat all the questions I asked before, but please look at them again. It's re: software.

Thanks,
KarEn.

Pls have a look at SSH Sentinel. It should fulfill your needs.

When installing follow the instructions of SSH to the point, it works
