Can I disable the wan on the BEFSR41? I just want to use the box as a router/switch on our network, but I don't want it mucking with anything else.

You don't really need to disable it - just don't plug anything into the wan port. You can still let it be the DHCP server to assign IP addresses to your network, but if you don't want it to, just disable the DHCP server function and it will just be a switch.
