This website claims to have a program for writing zeros.


Most drive manufacturers have some kind of utility to do this.

I think when you write zeros to the entire drive it is like physically testing all writable locations on the hard drive. It may actually make a drive work better.

If you do not like my post feel free to point out your opinion or my errors.
 
A program called System Mechanic, which includes a number of disk, registry, and web maint. tools also has a program to write 0's to your HD. In fact it allows you to choose how MANY times to rewrite your drive. The writing of 0's won't neccessarily make your drive perform any better, but it WILL make recovering any data from it much more difficult.
 
was an application i used on a PNC Bank project on all the boxes replaced and sent to india .. not that there were anything to really worry about on the drives, but the utility was the chosen choice..
