I have a form with 3 sub forms. Two of the subforms contain queries that update data every 30 seconds. They are not used for data entry. The middle form is where I load all of my content and data entry forms.

I have a save button on my data entry form for when the entry is complete the users just click the button. However, sometimes when they click on one of the other forms the data saves and avoids all checks. The error checks on my save button work great. I put the same checks in the ON Before Update procedure and MOST of them work, but not all of them. I'm having trouble figuring out why because there is no error messages... I've even tried calling My (SaveButton_Click) procedure from Before update. The data just saves. The problem is on my BeforeUpdate procedure.

I was wondering if there is a way to just disable before update? or some other creative work around. That would force the user to click the save button no matter what on my form and avoid the BeforeUpdate procedure all together.

Any suggestions?

I am using the Before Update on the FORM and not on any controls. By the way.
